Defense and security policy specialist

Job Summary

The Defense and Security Policy Specialist will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and implementing policies related to national defense and security. This role requires a deep understanding of geopolitical dynamics, defense strategies, and security frameworks. The specialist will work closely with government agencies, military personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure effective policy formulation and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on defense and security issues, including emerging threats and trends.

• Develop and recommend policy initiatives to enhance national security and defense capabilities.

• Collaborate with government agencies, military leaders, and international organizations to align policies with strategic objectives.

• Prepare detailed reports, policy briefs, and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.

• Monitor and evaluate the implementation of defense and security policies, providing recommendations for improvements.

• Participate in interagency and international meetings to represent policy positions and foster collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Security Studies, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in defense policy analysis, security studies, or related areas.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences.

• Proficiency in research methodologies and tools relevant to defense and security analysis.

• Understanding of military operations, defense procurement processes, and international security frameworks.
